Professor Bilgen Receives ASME Dedicated Service Award

Professor Onur Bilgen received the ASME Dedicated Service Award. This Society-level award honors unusual, dedicated voluntary service to ASME marked by outstanding performance, demonstrated effective leadership, prolonged and committed service, devotion, enthusiasm, and faithfulness.

Professor Bilgen was nominated by the ASME SMASIS Division and selected by the ASME Honors and Awards Committee with the following citation: “Onur Bilgen has been an essential leader for the SMASIS division over the last decade.  He has contributed in numerous capacities, developing and implementing new protocols for record keeping and archival, volunteering as webmaster for the branch, and serving on the division executive committee. He guided the division through multiple changes and new initiatives as chair, and continues to provide leadership as the chair of the steering committee.” 

Prof. Bilgen received an award certificate and an award plaque at the Pioneer Banquet at the 2026 ASME SMASIS Conference in Albuquerque, NM, on September 15, 2026.
